Obituary

James Edward Walker Jr., "Jim", age 90, peacefully passed away on February 5, 2024, at his son's home in Wilmington, Delaware. Born on May 28, 1933, in Middletown, Pennsylvania, Jim was the beloved son of James and Mary Walker. Jim spent his early years in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, before settling in Chester, where he attended Chester High School. After graduation, Jim proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to his nation and fellow citizens. His professional journey led him to the Chrysler Plant in Newark, Delaware and then to Allied Chemical where he worked as an industrial mechanic, dedicating 36 years of service. During his leisure time, Jim found solace and joy in the great outdoors. For several decades, he treasured hunting and fishing expeditions, building cherished memories with friends and loved ones. He even made his own ammunition, tinkering with different ways to perfect his rounds. Throughout his life, Jim was an active member of the Delaware County Field and Stream, where he fostered a deep appreciation for nature. He also held the esteemed title of a lifetime member at Westfield Rod and Gun. Jim is the son of the late James and Mary Walker, husband of 42 years to the late Sandra Elaine Hallman (1996), father to the late Cindy Clore, father-in-law to the late Ralph Uhrick and Michelle E. Walker and grandfather to the late Christopher Uhrick and Sean Walker. Survivors: His loving children: Barbara Uhrick, James P. Walker, and Brian Walker (Michelle), his sisters: Linda Walsh and Willa Mae Evans, his son-in-law: Tim Clore, as well as 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation: Monday, February 12, 2024, from 12:00pm - 1:15pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave. Aston, PA 19014. Funeral Service: Monday, February 12, 2024, at 1:30pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Burial: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
