Obituary

It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt reflection that we announce the passing of Janice Marie DeJohn, age 67, beloved sister, aunt, and esteemed cytotechnologist, who passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025. Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, Janice exhibited remarkable intelligence and an unwavering dedication to her vocation, which she pursued with passion throughout her career at AstraZeneca, where she significantly contributed to advancements in data processing and pharmacology. Janice was a proud graduate of Chichester Senior High School Class of 1976, and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas Jefferson University, graduating in 1982. Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her devotion to her faith, as a cherished member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, and a distinguished member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Janice's vibrant spirit will always be remembered for her love of nature, particularly bird watching, and her artistic flair, which shone through in her crafts and sketching. She savored the beauty of antiques and delighted in the company of her family, particularly the precious moments spent with her niece Adria, her nephew Vincent, and her great-niece Amalia. Janice Marie DeJohn's legacy of love, intellect, and gentle kindness will remain a guiding light in the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but celebrated for the extraordinary life she lived. Janice is the daughter of the late Vincent John DeJohn, Sr. and Florence (Sacharok) DeJohn. She is also preceded in death by her cherished niece, Anastacia Longenderfer Dougherty ( Chris). She is survived by her loving siblings, Michele Longenderfer (Roger) and Vincent DeJohn, Jr. (Denise), one niece: Adria Longenderfer ( Roberto), one nephew: Vincent DeJohn III, and one great-niece: Amalia Deseda, who will forever hold her memory dear. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in Janice's honor be made to Ana's Impact as an acknowledgment of her compassionate spirit and dedication to supporting others.
