Joan M. Armstrong, age 91, passed away on June 3, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born and raised in Upper Darby, PA, and was a graduate of West Catholic High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Hajoca Corporation as an Accounting Assistant. Joan was an avid reader and she particularly loved Fiction novels. She was a diehard Phillies and Eagles fan, and she was a member of Notre Dame De Lourdes Church in Swarthmore, PA. Above all else, Joan loved her family. She spent as much as she could with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Even when they were not together Joan kept everyone informed of family updates with texts. Joan was loved by her family and will be dearly missed. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Edna Hughes, and her husband, Charles Armstrong, Jr. Survivors: Children: Patricia Desiderio, Charles Armstrong, III (Christina), Susan Getz (Peter), James Armstrong, and Michael Armstrong. Siblings: Mrs. Patricia Humes and Mrs. Margaret Armstrong. Grandchildren: Jennifer Armstrong, Ryan Armstrong, Matthew Armstrong, Sean Desiderio, Christopher Desiderio, Pete Getz, Kelly Boon, Justin Armstrong, and Kayla Armstrong. Great Grandchildren: Charli, Meabh, Morgan, Brandon, Greyson, Hailey, Pete, and Chris. Visitation: June 15, 2024, 11:30am-1:00pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. Funeral Service: June 15, 2024, 1:00pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Private. In Lieu of Flowers: The family would appreciate plants instead of flowers, and donations in Joan's memory to Crozer Keystone Homecare and Hospice at 190 W. Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA 19064, ATTN: Homecare and Hospice, 3rd Floor.
