IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joanne J.
Drummond
August 29, 1935 – June 16, 2025
Joanne J. Drummond, age 89, passed away on June 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Joanne was born and raised in Chester, PA, and was a 1954 graduate of Chester High School. For many years she worked for Spear Brothers in Chester. Following the birth of her first child, William, she dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. Through the years Joanne took the role of mother and grandmother and extended it beyond her own family, caring for many friends of the family over the years that would affectionately refer to her as mom or mommom. After the passing of her husband, Joanne went to live with her daughter Susan where she would remain for 18 years before moving to Cadia Nursing and Rehabilitation. For many years Joanne met with childhood friends on Wednesday mornings for breakfast and she often met with fellow widows of Allied Chemical employees for lunch. She also enjoyed watching and attending the Eagles and Phillies with her family. She took great pride in serving her community at election time by working the polls while she resided in Chester. Joanne's lasting legacy will be the love and commitment she had for her beloved family and extended family.
She is the daughter of the late William Jones and Elizabeth Margaret Thompson, sister of the late Margaret "Peggy" Ripka, and wife of the late Noah Drummond (2005) with whom she was married for 48 years.
