It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Joanne Ewing, 82, of Garnet Valley, PA, who peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on January 31, 2025. Born in Washington, PA, Joanne was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was the daughter of William and Jessie [Layhew] Harper. Joanne graduated from Trinity High School, Washington PA in 1960 and went on to college earning her Registered Nursing (RN) degree from Ohio Valley Nursing School, in 1962. She worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) throughout her career, with notable positions at Wilmington Hospital, Wyeth, and Scott Paper. Her compassionate care and dedication to her work touched the lives of many. Beyond her professional achievements, Joanne was the heart of her family. She devoted herself to raising her children, actively supporting them in their scouting, soccer, baseball, band, track and field, and countless other activities. Her unwavering love and tireless efforts made her the pillar of strength and guidance for her children. Joanne had an incredible ability to balance her career and family life, always making sure her family felt supported, loved, and cared for. Her generosity, kindness, and strong sense of family will live on in all who knew her. Her family meant the world to her. Joanne also loved to travel, play cards with the neighbors, have progressive dinners with great friends, and host her famous neighborhood parties that all enjoyed. Joanne was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Donald Ewing; her son Trent Ewing (2014),her parents William and Jessie Harper; and her sister Connie [Harper] Warren. SURVIVORS: her son, Craig Ewing, and daughter-in-law Darsi Ewing; daughter Sheri Dudeck, and son-in-law Glen Dudeck. Joanne was a cherished grandmother to Tyler Ewing and his wife Natalie Ewing; and Joseph Ewing and his wife Abby Ewing; and a loving aunt to Jessica [Warren] Joyner. She will also be missed by her longtime partner William Davidson. VISITATION: Saturday, February 15th, 2025, from 9:30-10:30 am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston, PA 19014. MEMORIAL SERVICE: will be held on Saturday, February 15th, 2025 at 10:45 am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Avenue, Aston PA.
