Joanne F. Hinterlong, age 65, a lifelong resident of Chester, PA, passed away at her home on September 8, 2026. Joanne was a graduate of Chester High School. Over the years she held many jobs, working as a cook at Taylor Hospital and Belvedere Nursing Home, a check cashing clerk, at a laundry mat, and at Amelia's Supermarket and Sam & Sams. At each stop, Joanne made a lasting impact on her coworkers and the customers she helped serve. In recent years she sold Avon products, making many connections and friends along the way. In her free time Joanne enjoyed spending time at the VFW, crafting, and tending to her plants and garden. She attended Saint Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Chester as often as she could.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie Hinterlong, her beloved fiancé, Kenny Gilmore, and her great-grandson, Noah Smith.

Survivors: Her Children: Jennifer Nieves (Joel), Anthony Hinterlong, Patrick Nieves, Robert Nieves, and Nicholas Bartley. Siblings: Theresa Torres (Chuck) and Georgine Barcalow. Grandchildren: Gianne, Joshua, Alisha, Anthony, Jr., Anfanee, Artrina, Matthew, Emma, Octavia, Jae'oni, Cei'oni, Miy'oni, Taylor Reed, and Sebastion Bartley. Great Grandchildren: Nadiaa, Na'syah, Chaheim, Azariah, Lucia, and Harvey. Nieces: Barbara, Linda, and Kimblery, her lifelong friend, William Nieves, her 3 dogs, Charlie, Snowball, and Max, and her cat, Maxine.
