Obituary

John E. Cardile, age 63, a longtime resident of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. John was born in Chester, PA, raised in Boothwyn, PA, and a graduate of Salesianum School, Class of 1980. John continued his education at Widener University earning a bachelor's degree in accounting. Prior to his retirement, John was an accountant for Bank of New York Mellon. John was a man of many passions, some of which included working on cars, carpentry, gardening, grilling, and antiquing, or as he called it "junking". He was an avid Phillies fan and had a soft spot for animals, caring for many dogs over the years. His love for animals did not stop at dogs, John loved spending time at the horse tracks and even took yearly trips to Saratoga NY to enjoy the races with his friends and family. John was a thoughtful but understated romantic, always doing the little things for his beautiful wife Beth Ann to show her just how much he loved her.

John was the son of the late Samuel and Marlene Cardile and brother of the late Linda Mooney and Samuel Cardile.

Survivors: His Beautiful Wife of 45 years: Beth Ann McClure. Nieces: Rachel Schweizer (David) and Melinda Violet, Great Niece and Nephew: Amanda (DJ) and Alex, Sisters-in-law: Wendy Zorrer (Karen), Dawn Coale (Tacker), and Susan McClure Riley (Tom). Nieces and Nephew: Jacqui Zorrer, Kirstyn Coale (Maddie), and Corey Coale (Meghan). John is also survived by his lifelong friend Jimmy McMaster, his adorable fur baby Mia, and many dear friends and family.

Visitation: Saturday, August 30, 2025, 10:00am-12:00pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. Funeral Service: Saturday, August 30, 2025, 12:00pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
