John Endler of West Chester, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2020 at the age of 91.
Born in Avella, PA, he was the son of the late Frank C. Endler and Margaret A. Endler (Crow).
John graduated from South Fayette High School and went to work as a carpenter apprentice. He joined the Navy, graduating from the Hospital Corps School and was stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Philadelphia. A few years after marrying Jean, the couple moved to South Fayette, PA where John built their family home while being a self-employed home builder. John retired as a Field Superintendent where he supervised the construction of Concrete High Rises. After retirement, John was a school bus driver for South Fayette schools where the students lovingly called him "Mr. B".
John loved being outdoors, enjoying such hobbies as camping in their RV, fishing, boating, gardening, and bird watching. He also volunteered his time serving as a Trustee for Zion Lutheran Church and as a Trustee/Fire Chief at Fairview Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors: His loving wife of 68 years: Jean Endler (nee Wagner); Children: John Endler (Sandy), Jim Endler, and Janine Sholes (Tom); Grandchildren: Heather, Brett, Andrew, Alex, Charlotte, Samantha, and Ryan; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Due to the National Health Crisis a Memorial Service will be announced for family and friends at a later date in Bridgeville, PA. If you would like to honor John until this time, please thoughtfully do your part to stop the transmission of COVID-19.
