John F. Hanna, Sr. age 82, passed away on February 7, 2025. John grew up in Southwest Philadelphia and attended Overbrook High School. Later, he moved from Southwest Philadelphia to Eddystone, PA, where he made his home for the last 40 years. John spent many years working as a carpenter at Sparks Exhibits and was a member of the New Jersey Carpenters Union. A skilled carpenter, John contributed his craftsmanship to a variety of projects, including set designs. He also enjoyed fixing bicycles and solving jigsaw puzzles, and he cherished the weekly tradition of gathering with his family for Tuesday night poker tournaments.
John proudly served in the Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country.
John is the son of the late Samuel and Mary Hanna and was the devoted husband of 53 years to the late Maryann (née Mohr) Hanna. He was the father of the late John Francis Hanna, Jr. and William "Billy" Hanna, and the brother of the late Janie, Betty, Butchie, Margie, Cassie, and Barbara.
Survivors: He is survived by his brother, Thomas "Tommy" E. Hanna, as well as many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
