John S. Leonzio, Sr., age 73, of Chester Heights, PA, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at Riddle Hospital. Born on December 30, 1951, in Wilmington, DE, John was raised in Claymont, DE, where he graduated from Claymont High School. With a spirit of dedication and service, he joined the United States Army, proudly serving from 1973 to 1977, with significant time spent stationed in Italy and Tennessee. Following his service in the military John later had a successful career at the Boeing Company as a Composites Fabricator, from which he retired in 2009 after many years of dedicated work. A devoted family man, John cherished his time spent with his beloved spouse, Carol Leonzio, and was especially proud of both his son John S. Leonzio Jr. and his beloved grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. He had a passion for coaching baseball and enjoyed bowling, but his happiest moments were those shared with family, whether at their cherished Ocean City, MD beach getaways or at the family farm in Delaware. John was a faithful member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Upper Chichester, PA, where he actively participated in the community. John was predeceased by his parents William J. Crotty and Julia (Leonzio) Crotty. SURVIVORS: His loving wife of 52 years Carol (Piasecki) Leonzio, his son John S. Leonzio Jr, his cherished grandchildren Abigail and John Leonzio III, his siblings, Vera Miller, Sue Shockley, Jackie Goff, and Julie Brann. Visitation will Friday May 30, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45am at St John Fisher Church, 4225 Chichester Ave, Upper Chichester. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, also at St. John Fisher Church, celebrating John's life and the love he shared with all those around him. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston. John's legacy of love, service, and community will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
