John T. McGovern, age 83, passed away on August 31, 2023 in Wallingford, PA with his family by his side. John's roots traced back to Havertown, PA, and in recent years, he called Upper Chichester, PA, his home. He was a graduate of Bonner High School and was the Owner of McGovern & Son Painting. John served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army. He was a longtime parishoner of St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn, PA. In his spare time, John enjoyed learning about history, working on cars, watching the Phillies and Eagles, and painting. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. John is the son of the late Frank and Maureen McGovern brother to the late Frank Jr. and Martha Jane, and husband to the late Kathleen McGovern. Survivors: His loving children: Johnny, Michael and Kathy, his siblings: Mamie and Terry as well as his grandchildren: Christian, Connor, and Aiden. Service will be private.
