John S. Moletteri, age 85, a longtime resident of Brookhaven passed away on February 3, 2023 with his loving family by his side. John was raised and educated in Chester, PA and graduated from St. James Boy's Catholic High School in 1954. John attended LaSalle University in Philadelphia and he and his wife June Ann owned and operated The Chariot Tavern in Ridley Twp., for many years where they made many long lasting friendships. John was a past president of both the Delaware County Tavern Association and the Pennsylvania Tavern Association. A devout Catholic, John was passionate about his faith and it showed in all he did; he was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Charity Church, he helped run their annual spaghetti dinners, he served masses and prepared the altar, he was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, belonged to the Men of Malvern, and he was a life member of the St. James Alumni Association. John was extremely proud and spiritually moved by his involvement with the Little Audrey Santo Foundation in Worcester, MA. He was a life member of the NRA and enjoyed fishing hunting and sewing. John was a talented self taught sewer; he enjoyed making baptisimal bibbs for children and dresses and clothing for others. He is the son of the late Patrick and Marion (Moreno) Moletteri, step-son of the late Stella (Slezak) Moletteri, brother of the late Felix Moletteri, Josephine Taylor, Patrick Moletteri, and Thomas Moletteri. John is survived by his loving wife who he adored for 64 years, June Ann (Hower) Moletteri, his children: Marian Moletteri, John S. Moletteri, Jr. (Karen), Donna LaRose (Joe), Anita Leonard, and Novella Moletteri, his 7 grandchildren: John III, Karly, Kayla, Kristyn, Joseph, Jessica, and Haylee, and his 9 great grandchildren: Melina, Sienna, Reid, Hunter, Miabella, Jaxon, Luke, Armen, and Braely. Visitation: Thursday, February 9,2023 from 9:00-10:45am am at Our Lady of Charity Church 231 Upland Road, Brookhaven, PA 19015 Funeral Mass: Thursday at 11:00am at Our Lady of Charity Church. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Little Audrey Santo Foundation or to Our Lady of Charity Church.
