Joseph Cirilli, age 94, died on April 3, 2016. Joseph was a longtime resident of Chester before moving to Ridley Twp. where he lived for more than 20 years. Since 2004, he lived at Lutheran Knolls in Boothwyn. Joseph retired from Westinghouse Inc. after 40 years of service. He was the Executive Director of the Delco Athletes Hall of Fame, a 25 year past president of the Chester Teener Baseball League, and Commissioner of Area 1 Baseball Program. Joseph was past President of the Chester Rotary Club and founder of both the Widener University Rotaract Club and the Chester High Interact Club. Joseph served during World War II in the Army Air Corps, was a 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus, and member of the Men of Malvern for 35 years. He was the recipient of numerous community and sportsmanship awards throughout his life. Most notably, Joseph was a Paul Harris Fellow (Rotary Foundation of Rotary International), Sports Promoter (Delaware County Athletes Hall of Fame), Citizen of the Year (Delaware County Chamber of Commerce), Sports Promotion (Pennsylvania Hall of Fame, Delaware County Chapter) and was also recognized by the Senate of Pennsylvania for meritorious community service in 1990.
He was the son of the late Ugo and Vincenza (Vanucci) Cirilli and husband of the late Barbara "Dora" (Cimini) Cirilli.
SURVIVORS: 2 sons: Vincent Cirilli (Antoinette) and Michael A. Cirilli (Mary); 3 grandchildren: Andrea, Gina, and Cory; 2 great grandchildren: Julianna Grace McCracken and Brayden Joseph McCracken; and a special friend: Domenica Sennett.
VISITATION: Friday from 6 - 8:30 pm and Saturday from 8:45 - 9:45 am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston.
