January 6, 1988 – November 9, 2021
Joseph "Joe Joe" DiMatteo, 33, of Townsend, De, succumbed to his injuries on November 9, 2021, sustained in a motorcycle accident. His loss was completely unexpected, and the family is deeply saddened, and still in a state of shock. Joe was born on January 6, 1988 to Joseph DiMatteo and Jennifer Vickers in Chester, PA. Joe spent his younger years in Ridley, PA with his father, before moving to Marcus Hook with Aunt Vic, where he spent his teenage years. Joe received his GED from Glen Mills School, as well as graduated, and earned his High School Diploma from Chichester High School in 2006. He was a member of Local 542, District 5 for 6 years, however, became a member in 2013, after working for his grandparents at K.V. Excavating and Wastewater, LLC. Joe was an avid fisherman, however, the greastest catch of his life came when he met his wife, Jess. He loved spending hours on the water on his boat, as well as cruising around town on his Harley. He was also very active in his eldest son, Joseph, Jr's, love of playing football for M.O.T. Football, and never missed a practice or game. Joe was married to his high school sweetheart Jessica Marie DiMatteo (Montgomery), of Linwood, PA. They just celebrated their second wedding anniversary in Cancun, Mexico, and were expecting their fourth child, but first baby girl, Jolie Maze DiMatteo, in April 2022. Jolie was born sleeping on November 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph DiMatteo, Sr. Anyone who knew Joe, knew that he was a kind, loving, caring, and hard working man who made sure his family was taken care of.
