Durante
July 26, 1930 – March 25, 2017
Joseph J. "Cadillac Joe", "Joe Inquirer" Durante, age 86, a resident of Aston, passed away March 25, 2017. As a young child he lost his mother, and with his brother George and sister Diane, they resided in the Dante Home in Concordville. After which, Joe was a longtime resident of South Philadelphia. He worked for the family business as a brick layer, working with his father Gennaro and his brothers Pete and George. Joe went on to work for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News. He had a love for music, especially Frank Sinatra. Joe was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Aston. Joe was known to many as the life of the party; he could tell jokes for hours!
He was the husband of the late Dolores (Barilotti) Durante and brother of the late Peter, George, and Connie Durante.
