On July 19, 2015 at 7:15 AM, Joseph Haney, 95, of Boothwyn, PA went to be with his Lord after a brief illness at home comforted by family members.

Joe was born in Marion, McDowell County, NC on February 4, 1920. He was the son of the late Mills Albertus Haney and Naomi (Simmons) Haney.

He moved from NC to Pennsylvania about 1940 and soon afterward started working at Sinclair Refining Co. in Trainer, PA and became a resident of Boothwyn. While at Sinclair, he served in the Navy during WWII and returned to work there after discharge. He retired from BP on August 1, 1981.

Joe loved to garden and usually produced more produce of superior quality than his family could consume. He completely gutted the little bungalow he and hazel purchased in Boothwyn and rebuilt it into a brick and stucco ranch type house. He sought out advice from co-workers a the plant skilled in the trades and did virtually all the renovation work himself.

Joe was a quiet man and a hard worker. He was honest and would set a good example by his actions for family and friends. He did not waste time and asked for nothing he had not earned.

Special thanks to Crozer Keystone Hospice staff who demonstrated exceptional compassion and expertise during his illness. Also, exceptional was the work of his private aids.

SURVIVORS: wife: Hazel (Ensor) Haney of 75 years; children: Kenneth Haney, Shirley (Haney) O'Connor; grandchildren: Matthew Haney, Melissa (Haney) Jordan, Shawn Haney; step grandchildren: Dennis O'Connor and Terry O'Connor; nine great grandchildren, six great step grandchildren and one great, great step grandchild.
