Joseph R. "Pops" Jackalous, age 70, passed away suddenly at his home on March 12, 2017. He was raised in Chester and was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1964. Joseph had resided in Chester, Upper Chichester, and most recently Wilmington, DE. He had worked for the Darby Boat Company (West End Boat Club) for 20 years. Joseph also worked at Concord Beverage, and construction contractors including Exterior Concepts and Crowley Construction. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Joseph enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and spending time with his son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons at the beach.
He was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Warnes) Jackalous and brother of the late Albert Jackalous.
SURVIVORS: His son: Joseph E. (Melanie) Jackalous; siblings: Frank (Patricia) Jackalous, Harry Jackalous, Carol (Ronnie) Ostant; former husband of Patricia Francis; sister-in-law: Linda Jackalous; also survived by 3 grandchildren.
