Joseph W. "Gander" Messner, age 84, a longtime resident of Delaware County, passed away on August 27, 2017. Joseph was a graduate of St. James High School Class of 1950 and Villanova University. He was retired from Triangle Engineering Co., which he owned and operated. Joseph was a past member of Penn Oaks Country Club and past president of the Chester Jaycees. He proudly served his country with the United States navy on the USS Quincy during the Korean conflict. Joseph was an avid golfer and a boating enthusiast.
Joseph was the son of the late Joseph G. Messner and Roberta (LaBonty) Messner, and brother of the late Ronald Messner.
SURVIVORS: His wife: Joan (Henderson) Messner, 5 children: Joseph (Donna Markley), Christopher (Carolyn), Michael (Debbie), Amy Messner-Blackburn, and Thomas (Margaret), 4 step children: George Ricci, Theresa Tobin (Bill), John Ricci (Theresa), and Jeffrey Ricci, 20 grand children and 19 great-grandchildren, and a sister: Roberta Marrone.
