Obituary

Joseph P. Reagan, a beloved member of the Aston community, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024. Joseph's journey began in Chester, PA, where he attended Chester High School and graduated in 1955. Recognizing his duty and patriotism, he enlisted in the United States Army on November 23, 1956. Serving his country with great honor and dedication, Joe achieved the rank of Pvt-2 (P) before his honorable discharge in 1957. After his military service, Joe embarked on a successful career as an electrician in the chemical industry. He worked diligently for many years at General Chemical in Claymont, DE, leaving an indelible mark of professionalism and craftsmanship. Joseph's unwavering commitment to his craft and strong work ethic were admired by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Joe was known for his kind and compassionate nature. He was a dedicated parishioner of St. Katharine Drexel in Chester, where he found solace and community in his faith. He cherished the friendships he formed within the church and actively contributed to various outreach programs, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Joe was an avid Philadelphia sports fan who especially his Eagles and Phillies. Joe enjoyed traveling around the United States and Europe too! He also enjoyed his cruises to the Caribbean islands. He will leave his most loved and cherished children; Joe was most proud of his grandsons who affectionately called him Pop. He also cherished his time with his great grandsons. Pop's will be sadly missed by all that knew him but remembered fondly. He is the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Sweeney) Reagan, husband to the late Margaret (Cervino) Reagan, father to the late Joseph P. Reagan, Jr. and brother to the late William, Richard, Robert and Elizabeth Reagan. Survivors: His wife Mary Ann (Sardou) Knutson-Reagan, his three children: Peg Smith (Ken), Trish Atkins (Michael), and Michael Reagan, his step-son: Paul Knutson, his grandsons: Kenny Smith (Trish Hoffman), Danny Smith, Joey Smith (Jen), Michael Atkins, and Macallister and Malachi Reagan, his step granddaughter: Paula Knutson, as well as his great-grandsons: Jacob and Nolan Smith, Shane Hoffman, and Joseph and Cole Smith, and a step-great grandson, Lucas Knutson. Visitation: Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 9:45am-10:45am at St Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1920 Providence Ave, Chester, PA 19013. Funeral Mass: Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00am at St Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. Burial: Private.
