Joseph A. Zebleckes, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Wilmington on June 19, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Chester, PA and raised in Twin Oaks, PA. Joe was a proud graduate of Archmere Academy, Class of 1975, and later attended Lehigh University, graduating in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. He worked for ICI for 20 years before going back to school at Drexel University to pursue a degree in architecture. He spent the last years of his career as a practicing architect and owner of Brandywine Design Guild. Beyond his professional pursuits, Joe had a passion for sailing and was actively involved in competitive racing and cruising. He was also an accomplished guitarist and a dedicated supporter of "The Buzz" in Arden, DE. Throughout his life, Joe displayed a remarkable skill as a talented woodworker. He was also a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Claymont, DE. Above all, Joe cherished his role as a devoted father and loving husband. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A., and Pearl V. (nee Fanelli) Zebleckes, as well as his siblings, Maryann and Anthony Zebleckes. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet A. Zebleckes (nee Schukraft), and his children: Bryan P. (Brittany), Christopher J., and Jessica R. Zebleckes. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa M. Smith (Joseph) and her children, Patrick J. Smith and Kelly M. Herman. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation for Joe on Sunday, June 25 from 6 to 8pm at Nolan Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave. Aston. An additional visitation will take place on Monday, June 26 from 9:15 to 10:15am at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 3255 Concord Rd. Aston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sail Beyond Cancer Annapolis, a nonprofit serving those with cancer, which Joe actively supported.
