Judith (Judy) A. McCarthy, 85, of Glen Mills, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Fair Acres Nursing Facility in Media, Pennsylvania. Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, she was raised in Aston.

Judy was a proud military wife who traveled extensively supporting her husband and sons for twenty-two years. She was an Army wife through and through.

Judy enjoyed needlework and her beloved cats, Precious and Mickey.

Judy was a devoted and loving "Nana" to her nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Judy was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Aston and a member of the Forgotten Cats Organization of Greenville, Delaware.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Ellwood and Elizabeth Illingsworth. Additionally, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Charles (Charlie) McCarthy, and two siblings: Richard Illingsworth and Margaret (Frank) Osowski.

Survivors: children: Don McCarthy (Kathleen), Dave McCarthy, (Karen), Dan McCarthy (Beth) and Jim Kelly (Lisa), grandchildren: Kaitlyn McCarthy, Ryan McCarthy, David McCarthy, Sean McCarthy, David Kelly, Lauren McCarthy, Michael McCarthy, Matthew McCarthy, and Melissa Knight, and great-grandchildren: Kayla, Arizona, and Roger Knight, and Joan Scott.

Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Judy's honor to Andy's friends cat rescue and adoption agency.
