June "JJ" A. Jakavick (nee Scheid) , age 87, of Brookhaven, PA, formerly of Millsboro, DE, passed away January 26, 2021 in her home. She was the last living child of the late Alfred D. Scheid and Elizabeth (Hamilton) Scheid of Newtown Square. Her late sisters were Ruth Caldwell and Betty Haelle, and brother Charles Scheid. Widow of William Jakavick, and devoted mother to her two surviving children Mariann (Jakavick) Stewart and William L. Jakavick. Survived by her seven grandchildren, Nick, Billy, Allison, Taylor, Jordan, Blair and Travis. June was adored by all who knew her. She was so very giving and opened her home to her late sister, Ruth, her neice Sandy, her son and daughter and grandkids in their time of need. She was always there for her family. She so much enjoyed Bingo at the Amvets, was a awesome bowler in her younger days and loved playing cards with friends and family. In her last years she loved her Game Show Network and always enjoyed challenging her memory at Jeopardy. June retired from Congoleum Safety Store and Western & Southern Insurance Co. before that. In lieu of flowers: Donations may be made in June's name to The American Cancer Society (donate3.cancer.org); or American Diabetes Assn. (diabetes.org). There will be a Memorial Service to honor mom's life at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston, PA 19014 on February 28, 2021 at 1:30-2:45 for visitation and Service at 3:00 Service. Due to Covid restrictions we will not have a luncheon after the service, but will plan a gathering in the summer to celebrate June's life and share memories.
