June Ann Moletteri, age 87, of Aston Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on February 6th, 2026. Born and raised in Morea, Pennsylvania, June was a proud graduate of Mahanoy City High School where she was cheer captain and performed in school plays. She was awarded the Babe Ruth Foundation Sportsmanship Award.
June devoted much of her life to her family and her work. She was the first left-handed long-distance operator for Bell Telephone in Philadelphia in the 50s. She was the co-owner and operator of The Chariot Tavern, where her love of cooking and hospitality shined and was appreciated by many. She loved country music and sang karaoke. She danced and sang in the kitchen while she cooked and would yodel to entertain her family. June had a love of shopping and had quite the shoe collection.
June's faith remained an important aspect of her life, and she was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Charity Church where she sang in the choir. Her generous spirit and devotion to others will live on in all those who knew her.
June is now reunited with her beloved husband, John S. Moletteri, her parents John and Helen Hower, and her siblings Janet and Hazel.
She is survived by her loving children: Marian, John (Karen), Donna (Joseph), Anita, and Novella. Her siblings: Rachael and John. Her grandchildren: Kristyn, Joseph, John, Karly, Kayla, Jessica, and Haylee. Her great-grandchildren: MiaBella, Jaxon, Luke, Armen, Aline, Melina, Sienna, Reid, Hunter, Keegan, and Braely. Also, many nieces, nephews, and countless employees and regular long time customers who were considered family.
