Kelly Sean McKeown, 62, a longtime resident of Boothwyn, PA, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, October 27, 2024, surrounded by family. Born in Chester, PA, and raised in Linwood, PA, he was a 1979 graduate of Chichester High School. Following his formal education, he went on to start his career in the automotive industry as an auto body technician for Lister and Ken's. As time progressed, he accepted a position with General Motors in Corporate Training and Lean Manufacturing where he was a coach, a course developer, a team leader, and a procedure writer. He and his team were a five-time recipient of the "People Make Quality Happen" award. Proceeding the closure of General Motors Kelly took on a new career as a manufacturing specialist at DEMEP. Kelly worked to improve businesses through identifying efficiencies and growth opportunities. He was an important player in revealing grants, partnerships, and connecting people in the manufacturing arena in the state of Delaware. He worked in cyber security, quality, and was the lead for supplier scouting. Kelly will be remembered foremost for his dedication to both his clients and coworkers. He was a talented problem solver and could be counted on for creative and innovative solutions. Kelly's coworkers and clients will remember him for his strong loyalty as a friend. Outside of work Kelly enjoyed family vacations to Brigantine and Wildwood New Jersey. He also enjoyed painting, drawing, taking his wife for a ride in his beloved Saturn Sky, cooking large Sunday dinners, and long walks around Brandywine Park and zoo. Kelly was very handy and took on many home improvement projects around the house with the help of his son, Sean. Kelly's awful singing did not deter him from belting out songs at the top of his lungs on Sunday mornings. He is wildly known for his silly side and making people laugh. His sense of humor now lives on through his children. He is preceded in death by his father Daniel A. McKeown. Survivors: his mother Anne (DeLorenzo) McKeown, his beloved wife Dawn McKeown, with whom he shared 47 years together-41 of which they were married, three children: Heather Johnson (Travis), Kate McKeown (Russell Ostan), and Sean McKeown, two siblings: Daniel McKeown (Doreen), Kim Sutter (John) and six grandchildren: Logan, Teagan, Mavis, Xavier, Ethan, and Colton, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
