Obituary

Louise Carol Lordi, née Agostinelli, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, at the age of 99. She lived a long, full life, enjoying good health and sunny Florida for the past 15 years with her daughter and son-in-law, Lucretia and Tom Skoda.

Born November 17, 1925, Louise grew up during the Great Depression in Elwood City, Pennsylvania, as the second of five children to Carlo and Yolanda Agostinelli. In May 1943, Louise graduated at the top of her class from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. She was known in high school as the smartest and prettiest girl in her class.

During high school, Louise began corresponding with a classmate's brother, Frank E. Lordi, who was serving as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Force, stationed in Italy during World War II. Upon his return, Frank courted Louise, and they married February 4, 1946. Together they built their life, first in Elwood City, and later in Beaver, West Chester, and Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. They raised three children, Frank, Lucretia and Joan, and enjoyed 62 happy years of marriage until Frank's passing in 2004.

Louise enjoyed a wide range of interests, from sewing, cooking, reading, painting ceramics, flower gardening, to playing cards, traveling and working at Hornes, a local department store. She made custom clothes for her daughters and for their dolls as well. Later she took up crocheting and crafted numerous beautiful afghan blankets that will warm her family for years to come. Her Italian cooking was legendary.

Louise traveled extensively, including more than one trip to Italy. During the years 2005 – 2010 Louise lived in Tiawan and Japan with Lucretia and Tom, and visited several other Southeast Asia countries, including China, Indonesia and Thailand. Visiting her mother's village in Italy and walking the Great Wall of China were particularly noteworthy experiences for her.

She was curious and engaged throughout her life in current events - local, national and international. She enjoyed lively conversations with family and friends with an open mind and on a wide range of topics.

Louise had a magnetic charm and a truly remarkable ability to connect with people of all ages. She made friends everywhere she went. She was an excellent listener, always ready with wise and thoughtful guidance. Her warmth and sincerity enriched the lives of all those around her. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and easy ways. Louise leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and wisdom that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Louise is survived by two of her brothers, Raymond and Edward Agostinelli of State College, Pennsylvania, her children Frank C. Lordi (Ann), Lucretia L. Skoda (Tom), and Joan C. Amble (David), six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank and her brothers Albert and Carl Agostinelli.

Private services will be held at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home in Aston, Pennsylvania and Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. The family takes comfort in knowing that Louise's spirit will live on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.

In honor of Louise's deep faith and devotion, the family requests Mass Cards in lieu of flowers. Louise will be interred at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Cemetery. Mass Cards should be mailed to Lucretia Skoda, 12560 Highfield Circle, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202.
