IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Madeleine Rose
O'Reilly
September 2, 1966 – January 25, 2018
Madeleine Rose O'Reilly, age 51, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on January 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Maddie was raised in Newtown Square, PA, and was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, and Villanova University.
Maddie was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary Jane (Kelly) O'Reilly; the beloved fiancée of Joseph R. Lepre; loving sister to Maura Grable (Jeff), Joseph P. O'Reilly, and John W. O'Reilly (Holly); and devoted and loving "Ciocia" to Brendan, Kelly, and Caroline Grable.
Maddie was an accomplished financial executive serving as Vice President of Finance and Head of North America Commercial Finance at SAP America Inc. Prior to her position there, Maddie spent several years at JP Morgan and GE Capital. Throughout her entire career, Maddie proved herself to be a valuable and trusted employee, but more importantly she was also a loyal and compassionate friend to dozens, if not hundreds of co-workers over the years. Maddie led by example. Her dedication and work ethic was esteemed by anyone who had the opportunity to work with her. She will be missed tremendously by all of her colleagues.
Besides her successful career, Maddie loved to travel with her fiancé Joe. In her short lifetime, she had traveled throughout most of the U.S., four continents and seventeen countries.
"Ciocia Maddie" couldn't find enough time to spend with her nephew Brendan and nieces Kelly and Caroline who brought her tremendous joy. Maddie was always in the audience for their school performances or cheering them on from the bleachers and sidelines at sporting events. There was never any doubt about it; Ciocia Maddie was their biggest fan!
Maddie also loved spending time with her extended family at her family's beach house in Avalon, NJ, where she had spent her summers as a child. She was especially close to her Godmother, Madalyn Mingey. Maddie also enjoyed going to the movies and shows, doing puzzles, reading a good book, needlepointing and, of course, eating sushi.
Maddie was tremendously courageous throughout her lifetime in dealing with serious health issues, many of which she kept private because she didn't want anyone worrying about her. She fought an incredible battle these past several months against her cancer and everyone who witnessed her bravery was in awe of her strength and perseverance. Maddie will forever be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
