IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marcella E.
Craskey
July 10, 1944 – December 4, 2022
Marcy Craskey, age 78, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2022. She was raised in Darby, PA, and was a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast Girls High School. Marcy's devotion to her faith led her to become a religious Sister of Mercy for nine years. While she served she received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Religious Education from Gwynedd Mercy. She later received her Master's degree at Villanova. Marcy exemplified the spirit of a Sister of Mercy throughout her life. She traveled the world doing computer training for two major corporations, DuPont and Unisys, although she had no prior experience in this field. In 2003, while working for Unisys, she suffered a major stroke, which ended her career. This experience led her to work with a support group for stroke survivors at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital and in 2008 she was the recipient of the Mercy Courage award for Personal Achievement. Marcy was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Viola Craskey, her step-mother, Helen Craskey, brothers, Robert, Thomas, and Joseph Craskey, sister-in-law, Reenie Craskey and her beloved cat, Joy. Survivors: Nephews: Robert, Paul, Jeff, Tim, and Michael Craskey, and other nephews and nieces, her supportive and devoted Sister-in-law: Linda Craskey. She is also survived by her Dear Friend: Nancy Lesutis, R.S.M. Visitation: Monday, December 12, 2022, 10:00-10:30am at Little Flower Manor, 1201 Springfield Rd, Darby, PA 19023. Funeral Mass: Monday, December 12, 2022, at 10:30am at Little Flower Manor. Burial: Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Condolences: www.nolanfidale.com.
