Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" F. Parent, 87, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home in Wildwood Crest, N.J. A loving and extraordinarily kind mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Peggy was born and raised in Chester, Pa. She lived for many years in Upland, Pa. with her late husband of 50 years, Walter Parent, and her children.

She moved to Claymont, Del. in 1995 with Walter and lived there until last year, when she moved to her daughter's home in Thornton.

Peggy was a graduate of Notre Dame Catholic Girls High School in Moylan, Pa. She was employed for many years at both Western Union and Crozer Chester Medical Center, where she worked as a medical registrar. In her spare time, Peggy enjoyed bowling in the Crozer Chester Medical Center league, and a passion for books. An avid fan of the Phillies and Eagles, she also enjoyed playing rummy with her family and friends, and time spent at the South Jersey shore.

She also loved cheering on her children and grandchildren at sports games and other events. A devout Catholic, Peggy was a longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Claymont, Del.

She is survived by her loving children Marie Parent, Robert Parent (Lorraine) and Donna King (Patrick); grandchildren Connor, Drew, Sean (Lexie), Dana, and Jack; and great-grandchild Miles Patrick MacNeal.

Peggy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Nusbaum) Burns. She was a loving sister to her late brothers Joseph, John, James, Harry, Larry and Michael, and sisters Catherine Brower and Mary Minner.
