"Peggy" Thompson
March 11, 1936 – March 26, 2022
Margaret Ann Thompson (Nee Crines) known to all as Peggy, age 86, died peacefully on March 26, 2022, at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia, Peggy was a 1954 Graduate of West Catholic Girls High School. Peggy moved to Darby when she married her husband John and lived there until 1993 when they moved to Palm Coast, Florida. In 2016 Peggy returned to Delaware County and has lived in Glen Mills since. Peggy had a full-time position raising her 5 children. She was a member at Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Darby where she was involved with the BVM Mother's Club and the BVM Choir. Peggy was a woman of faith. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and lived her life serving others. Peggy also enjoyed cooking, traveling, playing poker, dancing with her husband John, the Red Hat Society, and was active in many social clubs. Peggy was a special person who had many friendships that she cherished throughout her life. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of Peggy's life. The legacy of her kind spirit and zest for life will live on through them.
Peggy was the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Farnin) Crines, Wife of 42 years to the late John A. Thompson (2000). Sister of the late Catherine Haug, Isabel Sherry, John Crines, James Crines, and Ellen Stewart.
Survivors: Her loving children Maureen Thompson, John A. Thompson Jr. (Carolyn), Diane Stanton (Edward), Stephen Thompson (Karen), and Daniel Thompson (Alicia). Her brother David Crines (Dorothy). Her cherished grandchildren: Aurora, Edward Theodore, Aubrey, and Nathan, her great grandchildren Darcy, Xavier, Jerry, and expected great grandson.
Visitation: Friday, April 1, 2022, at 9:30-10:15am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 340 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills. Funeral Mass: Friday, April 1, 2022, at 10:30am at the church. Burial: Private. In lieu of flowers donations in Peggy's memory may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul of Delaware County at www.delcosvdp.org/donate
