Obituary

Marian D. (nee Crist) (Redding) Altemus, age 73 , a longtime resident of Parkside, passed away on March 6, 2016 at her home in Parkside surrounded by her loving family. Marian was born and raised in the Sun Village section of Chester and graduated from Notre Dame Girls High School in Moylan, PA. Marian worked out of her home as a hairdresser. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed crabbing, crocheting, and dancing, appearing on one of the first American Bandstands. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marion (Lowther) Crist, mother of the late Denise Redding and sister of the late Bill Crist.

SURVIVORS: Her husband: Joel "Al" Altemus; her children: Jim (Lori) and Raymond Redding; her siblings: Bob Crist, Rayanne Crist, Toni Crist, and "Aunt Joan" McCaffrey; her grandchildren: Gretchen and James Redding; many loving nieces and nephews.

Viewing: Friday from 9:30-10:30 AM at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston, PA. Funeral Liturgy: Friday at 10:30 am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers: donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org. Condolences: www.nolanfidale.com.
