Mary (Marie) Roschel (nee Brown), age 96, of Dover, DE and formerly of Delaware County, PA died at Bay Health Hospital in Dover while surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, July 16th, 2018. Marie was born May 27th, 1922, in Pennsylvania to Mary (nee Leich) and Joseph Brown. She married John H. Roschel and made her home in Boothwyn, PA. Marie worked for Allied Chemical in North Claymont, DE and later retired to Ogden, PA. Marie was an avid golfer and after playing the game, Marie enthusiastically followed her favorite professional golfers, especially Phil Mickelson. She also loved Wheel of Fortune and rarely missed an episode. She loved boating, travelling, entertaining, and spending precious time with her grandchildren. Marie lived an active life and was as sharp as a tack. She will be especially remembered for her generosity. Marie hosted many family dinners and parties throughout her lifetime and thoroughly enjoyed her visits to the slot machines with her sister, Floss. Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Sherman) Carbine of Fenwick Island, DE, her son, William Sherman (Patricia) of Ocean View, DE, and her son Gary Sherman (Elaine) of McLean, Virginia; her sister Florence (Flossie) Rollo of Brookhaven, PA; and grandchildren, Tom Carbine, Donna Grzyb (Mark), Sandy Gillis (Palmer), William Jr. (Eileen), Janine Sherman (Steve), Kyle Sherman (Suzanne), Gigi Pierce (Dave), and Christopher Sherman. Marie is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Roschel and siblings Edward, George, Carl, Marguerite (Sis), Ethel, Anna, and Doris.

Visitation will be held at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home in Aston, PA on Wednesday, July 25th, 2018 from 10:00-11:15 am with a service immediately following at 11:30 am. Interment will be at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
