IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marion E.
Haday
August 31, 1933 – February 28, 2017
Marion E. Haday (nee Palilonis), age 83, of Aston, PA, died February 28, 2017 at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media. Born in Upper Darby, PA on August 31, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Bertha and Edward Carson. She was the wife of the late Stephen B. Haday for 56 years and was also predeceased by her sister Dorothy. Marion lived in Aston for over 61 years. She worked for the Franklin Mint for over 20 years, but mostly enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family.
Aside from sewing and knitting for her husband and four daughters, preparing her "world famous" chicken, potato salad, and iced tea was a common occurrence for picnics at the lake, trips to Fenwick Island, or camping and fishing trips. Mom also had a reputation for her baked goods and took pleasure in sharing her fantastic cakes, pies, breads, buns, and cookies with family, friends, and neighbors. Even the occasional delivery man found himself delayed for a sweet treat.
At home, there was always a book to read, a jigsaw puzzle to assemble, a scrabble challenge or math drill awaiting. Pinochle competitions lasted well past bedtime. Whether boating, jumping waves, pitching a tent, attending a cookout, enjoying an outdoor parade or musical performance or soccer game, no one will forget Mom's ever-present fly swatter!
She is survived by her four daughters, Elaine Farrell of Lititz, PA, Alice (Darryl) Goldsborough of Coatesville, PA, Janet Breidenbach of McHenry, IL, and Brenda (Jonathan) Wolfe of Narvon, PA. Marion is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and two grand dogs. We already miss you Mom!
