Marlene Probert-Thornton, age 78, a resident of Ridley Twp., died July 6, 2021 at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland surrounded by her loving family.  Marlene was a longtime resident of Upland, PA before moving to Ridley Twp. She was a 1961 graduate of Eddystone High School and was employed by Crozer Chester Medical Center for 29 years holding various position before retiring in 2002. Marlene also worked for 15 years at Upland Industries. She loved her family and children dearly and enjoyed coaching her daughter's softball team in Upland. Marlene was a member of Upland Baptist Church in Upland, PA. Marlene was an avid bowler, and enjoyed camping, ice cold Coors lights, and doing word search.

She was the daughter of the late Anna Machamer & Joseph Probert, wife of the late Joseph F. Thornton, Sr. who died in 2016, sister of the late Harry and Robert Probert.

SURVIVORS: her 3 children: Susan Probert, Marie Thornton (Jerry), and Joseph Thornton, Jr., (Elaine), 9 Grandchildren: Brittany (John), Tiffany (Charles), Jamie (Song), Chelsea (Ryan), Timmy, Joey, Josh (Natalie), Jessie, Naomi, and 18 great grandchildren Tania, Ayden, Keyon, Traevin, Aryanna, Blaine, Zayden, Cassidy, Illeah, Tayanna, Alexander, Alaina, Zeonna, Ryan, Wyatt, Marla, Kera (Rice) and Ivy.  She is also survived by her Aunt Patricia Shirey and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Marlene will be miss by all but never forgotten. VISITATION: Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 1:30-2:30pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA.
