IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary
Labricciosa
November 7, 1920 – August 13, 2018
Mary Bucci Labricciosa transitioned peacefully into the presence of God on August 13, 2018. She was born November 7, 1920 in the Abruzzi region of Pescara, Italy. In 1937 she immigrated to the U.S. aboard the ocean liner Rex, along with her mother and brother. She joined her father who had previously made the journey. Once she arrived in the U.S. she was able to enjoy the freedom that she encountered and she engaged her entrepreneurial spirit by opening a grocery store with her brother, Carlo. Mary was a successful business woman. She married Joseph Labricciosa in 1944 and in 1954 they sold her business and moved their family from Wilmington DE to Boothwyn PA to raise their family. Mary was happy and content and took on the role of wife, mother, and homemaker. Mary and Joe raised two daughters and a son who were the center of their world. She was a kind and loving woman who welcomed everyone to her home. Joe was the love of her life and they were married 54 years until he passed away.
In her later years she brought much joy, the gift of song and dance, and storytelling to the residents and staff at Glen Mills Assisted Living where she resided and was loved by her many friends, "Anna and Joe". The family would like to acknowledge the kind and loving staff at Glen Mills Assisted Living and Compassus Hospice where she was treated with dignity and respect.
