Maureen "Rene" Anne DeLong (nee Applegate), age 81, of Upper Chichester, PA passed away on April 30, 2024. Rene worked at Verizon for 43 years before retiring in 2003. She was an associate member of both the Del Vets Post #1 in Wilmington, DE and American Legion Post 926 in Aston. Maureen was a lifetime associate member of the Delaware County Marine Corps League #288 in Upland, PA. There at the Marine Corps League she was a devoted member of the "Friday Nighters" group. She is the daughter of the late Jerome and Dorothy Applegate, wife to the late James C. DeLong, sister to the late Robert J. Applegate, and niece to the late Mary and Wendell Beaney. Survivors: Her dear friend Mary "Lenore" King, as well as many life long friends and her beloved dog Mattie. Service and Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
