Michael Percival Christie, 68, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on November 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born January 14, 1956, in Philadelphia PA, the son of Ralph W. Christie, Angela M. (Condon) Christie.
Mike married Dolores (Devlin) Christie on February 5, 1977, in Springfield PA. Mike and Dee were together for a fantastic 52 long years. Mike was a graduate of Sun Valley High School class of 1974. He started working in industrial construction at the Sun Shipyard and Dry Dock. The majority of his career he worked as a commercial driver in Environmental Services at various companies throughout the Delaware Valley for 32 years. He retired from the business in 2022. His strong work ethic and professionalism were well respected in the industry. In his spare time, he loved road trips, swimming, antique treasure hunting and spending time with his sons and grandchildren. Mike was a charismatic man of great character who loved people and animals alike. He enjoyed conversing with anyone and everyone within his reach. He touched many lives with his entertaining stories, kind words and optimistic outlook on life.
Michael is survived by his spouse Dee Christie, as well as sons Michael T. (Jessica) Christie, Steven E. (Kristen) Christie, Brian F. (Charleston) Christie. Grandchildren, Kayla M. Christie, Tyler A. Wooters. Survived by sister Jean (Timothy) Barnhart and brother Ralph (Carol) Christie, preceded by brother Thomas Christie. Additionally, he is survived by in-laws James and Deborah Devlin, Phil Devlin and Debbie McIntyre, as well as multiple nieces, nephews, extended family and dog children, Gemma and Folly.
Visitation: Friday, November 15, 2024, 11:00am-12:30pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. Memorial Service: Friday, November 15, 2024, 12:30pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Private.
