Obituary

Michael S. Haase, 56, of Upper Chichester passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Riddle Hospital, Media, Pennsylvania. Born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, he was a 1988 graduate of Lakeland High School in Wanaque, New Jersey.

Mike began excelling in sports at a very young age. His natural talents and true sportsmanship beliefs led him to become an invaluable teammate in both basketball and football from the time he was 8 years old all the way through to high school. He loved competing and his leadership skills helped lead his teams to many successful seasons.

Following a tragic automobile accident in August 1990, Mike became a quadriplegic, a life-changing event that presented him with challenges few could imagine. Yet, throughout the years that followed, he showed remarkable strength, courage, and perseverance. Despite the many obstacles he faced, he continued to find meaning in life and remained a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, and a cherished part of his family. His resilience in the face of adversity will always be remembered and admired by those who knew and loved him.

He was the son of Robert C. Haase and the late Margaret "Peggy" A. (Boyle) Haase.

Additionally, he is survived by his beloved brother: Timothy Haase and wife Nora of Upper Chichester, and three nieces and nephews: Andrew, Brenna, and Stephen.
