Obituary

Michael A. Turco, age 78, a resident of Thornton, PA, passed away on July 7, 2024, in West Chester, PA. Michael was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and was a 1964 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School. He went on to earn three degrees at Drexel University, one Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and two Master's degrees, in both Environmental Engineering and Business Administration. He was always the smartest man in the room and could fix or put together anything. In his free time, he enjoyed working on plastic scale models, and was a proud member of the International Plastic Modelers Society. He was very active in the club winning many awards and earning features in associated magazines. Michael was also a devoted Phillies fan, even participating in Phillies Dream Week. As a child, Michael cherished his summers down the shore at Wildwood Crest. He was an avid music lover and has an extensive record collection. Growing up, you could find him playing bass and singing in his band and dancing at record hops on the weekends. Michael had many other varied interests including astronomy, stamp collecting, birding, mentoring Drexel engineering seniors, taking care of his beloved cats Jack Jack and Molly, and riding his motorcycle. He was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Glen Mills, PA. Most importantly, Michael was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Gloria Turco. Survived by wife of 35 years: Sharon Turco. Daughters: Alexis White (Walter Wesley White, Jr.) and Lauren Turco. Grandson: Walter Wesley White, III. Brother: Anthony Turco (Cynthia). Cousin: Carmen Hist (John). Michael is also survived by his two cats Jack Jack and Molly. Visitation: Friday, July 12, 2024 6:00pm-8:00pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014 and Saturday, July 13, 2024, 9:00am-9:45am Public Visitation with 10am Funeral Mass to follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342. Burial: Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to the ASPCA at www.aspca.org.
