Mittie A. "Winnie" Birl, age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 17, 2016. Winnie was born and raised in Boothwyn and was 1 of 11 children.

Winnie was a longtime member of Memorial Presbyterian Church where she worked in many capacities and was the Clerk of Session for over 30 years. She served as President, Secretary and Treasurer of the 5th Ward Civic League of Upper Chichester Township for 62 years. Winnie enjoyed helping people in the capacity of Secretary of Upper Chichester Board of Health for 24 years.

Winnie was the daughter of the late Elmer Jacob and Mary Ella (Hastings) Bryant, wife of the late John Frederick Birl, Sr., to whom she was married for 60 years, and was the mother of the late John F. Birl, Jr.

SURVIVORS: her daughters: Shirley Kimball and Susan Watkins; her grandchildren: Andrew Watkins (Jessica), Kimberly Hildebrandt (Michael), Chad Watkins (Jamie), and Joshua Kimball; and her great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Walter Hildebrandt.

VISITATION:  Monday from 9:45 - 10:45 AM at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3217 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA 19061. Funeral Service: Monday at 11am at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3217 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA 19061. BURIAL:  Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills.
