It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Hartmann Jordan on October 15, 2024. A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Nancy was born in 1942 in Newport News, Virginia while the family was stationed in Fort Monroe during World War II to parents Jack and Ruth Hartmann. She spent most of her early years in Springfield, Pennsylvania, where she formed lasting friendships. A graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1960 and Iowa State University Class of 1964, Nancy exemplified determination and independence throughout her life. After raising her four daughters, she pursued higher education and earned a master's degree from Widener University. Nancy was active throughout her life. She played sports and was a skilled diver in high school competing in the mid-Atlantic State Diving Championships multiple times. Later in life, she become an avid golfer. Nancy enjoyed the game well into her late 70's, continuing to chip and putt even in her final days. Handy around the house, she took pride in tackling home improvement projects for her and her families' homes. Nancy also had a gift for crafting, from sewing and smocking clothes and personalizing holiday stockings for her children and grandchildren to creating beautiful handmade wool rugs. She treasured moments with her family during beach vacations and festive holidays. Her Thanksgiving coleslaw, stuffing and gravy were legendary, making holiday gatherings especially memorable as well as her rock candy that everyone enjoyed. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her sister, Joan Hartmann Gillan. She is survived by her brother, Bruce Hartmann and daughters, Natalie Lucas, Mitzi Jones, Dena Wendle, and Laney Foultz and their families, including 13 grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nancy's life and share in the joy of her memory. Visitation: Monday, October 21, 2024, from 10-11am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Avenue, Aston, PA. Funeral Service: Monday October 21 at 11am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Interment: will be held at Edgewood Memorial Park, immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Nancy's honor to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (www.kormen.org). Her spirit, love, and the lasting impact she had on our lives will never be forgotten.
