Nancy Thammavong, beloved mother, grandmother, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at the age of 76, following a courageous nearly two‑year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on November 10, 1949, in Laos, she was one of nine children-three brothers and five sisters. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings except her youngest sister, who continues to reside in Laos.

In 1979, Nancy immigrated to the United States in pursuit of greater opportunities for herself and her family. Throughout her life, she made homes in Philadelphia, Upper Darby, Baltimore, and California and forming lasting friendships and nurturing community everywhere she went.

Nancy was the mother of three sons: Alex (Irene), Si, and Phoukong/Steve (Thuy/Tina). She was the grandmother of Alisa, Lexi, Christian, Tyler, and Saige. She is also survived by her partner, Bounliang, and the father of her children, Chanhla.

She will be remembered for her strength, independence, joyful spirit, and steadfast love for her family, friends, and, of course, the casinos. Though her absence will be deeply felt, her warmth and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
