Ned was born in Tremont, Pennsylvania and spent part of his childhood in Milwaukee before moving to Chester, PA, where he graduated from Eddystone High School. He later made his home in the Twin Oaks section of Upper Chichester, where he lived for 63 years before most recently residing in Glen Mills, PA at Ivy Creek Senior Living.

An outdoorsman throughout his life, Ned enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid woodworker. He took great pride in working with his hands and creating projects in his workshop. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and treasured the years spent with those he loved.
He was the son of the late Harry and Emma (née Kemfort) Focht; the brother of the late Bruce Focht; and the father of the late Larry Focht.
