Durbano
May 17, 1935 – May 10, 2016
On the morning of May 10, Norman J. Durbano (Norm), of Boothwyn, PA passed away of natural causes at University of Pennsylvania Hospital. He was 80 years old. Norm was born on May 17, 1935 in Chester, PA and was the oldest of four children born to Norman Sr. and Florence Durbano (DeChec, Baxter), both deceased. Norman has resided at his present address since he was six years old and graduated from Chichester High School in 1953. Norman was named All Delco in football in high school and also played basketball and baseball. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force as an Airman First Class after four years of service. Norman worked at Visco in Marcus Hook, Phoenix Steel in Claymont, DE for 23 years, and retired from Artesian Water in Newark after 18 years. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Marcus Hook. Norman and his wife enjoyed going to the Casino, working in their garden and bowling at the Conchester, First State and Holiday Lanes. He was inducted into the Delaware County Athletes Hall of Fame for bowling in 1984. He also enjoyed golfing with his stepson Bill, and friends Jack and Ted.
Norman is survived by his wife of 49 years Theresa (Terry) Durbano (Marantino, Bryant), his son David of Seattle, WA, his stepson Bill Bryant of Boothwyn; brothers Richard (Dick) and Helen of Wilmington, DE, Larry and Sally; sister, Angeline (Babe) and Bob Kellett both of Punta Gorda, FL and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides.
VISITATION: Monday from 9:30-11:30am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston, PA. FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday at 11:30am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd. BURIAL: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory should be made to one of the Upper Chichester, Boothwyn, Ogden, or Reliance Fire Companies.
