October 7th, a day we will always remember in sadness. It is hard to imagine that we will not see our dad again. Stan was a man of few words but one that worked hard to take care of his family. There are so many memories to speak of but ones that will stick in our minds forever are the rides in his red VW bug convertible, playing games in the pool, playing catch or basketball, and the road trips to visit family in Virginia. When we were growing up, dad could always be found in his chair watching television after a long day at work but when time allowed, he loved to be out on a boat fishing or crabbing.
Our dad was born on May 9, 1945, to Howard and Garnet Davenport. He had three siblings that have all preceded him in death, Bertha, Junior, and Ethel. He is survived by two daughters (Lisa and Gwen) and their mother (Dorothy), two granddaughters, a great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. He was an army veteran and a truck driver for both McLean's and Consolidated Freightways. While we will miss dad every day there is peace in knowing that there is no more suffering, no more pain, no more dementia. We love you dad.
Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
