Battinieri
August 15, 1962 – February 22, 2026
Paul M. Battinieri, age 63, a resident of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away on February 22, 2026, at Wilmington Hospital, with his beloved wife by his side. Paul was born and raised in Chester, PA, graduating from St. Roberts and then St. James Catholic High School for Boys, Class of 1980. After a distinguished career Paul retired from the Chester Police Department as a Sergeant in 2014. He was a member of the Chester FOP Lodge #19, a life member of the PA Blue Knights Motorcycle Club, and he spent time as a State Constable.
Paul's life was one of service to his community, in addition to serving as a police officer, he was an honorary life member of Moyamensing Hook and Ladder Co. and the Moyamensing Junior Fire Co. He took great pride in being a 30+ gallon platelet donor for the American Red Cross, saving countless lives over the years. He formerly served as a Chester Republican Committeeman, board member of the Chester Redevelopment Authority, and a board member of the Bethel Township Planning Commission, always hoping to help make his community a better place.
Faith was a guiding a principle in Paul's life, attending catholic school growing up and assisting as a life member of the St. James Alumni Association, and attending Mass faithfully, most recently as a member of St. John Fisher Parish in Boothwyn, PA. Paul was a member of the Cardinal Dougherty Assembly 4th degree Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Rosary #3876 Brookhaven Knights of Columbus and he was a past Grand Knight of Americus Council #242.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Fortuna Battinieri.
Survivors: His devoted wife of 43 years: Carol Battinieri; Son: Kyle Battinieri (Amanda); His cherished grandsons: Parker Paul and Hadrian David; Brothers: Mark (Jackie) and Guy (Jacci) Battinieri. Sisters-in-law: Nicole Scarpato and Michelle Pepe; Brothers-in-law John and Michael Firlein. Paul is survived by his nephew, Matthew Battinieri, in addition to numerous more nephews and nieces.
Visitation: Tuesday, March 3, 2026, 9:00am-10:15am at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave, Boothwyn, PA 19061. Funeral Mass: Tuesday, March 3, 2026 10:30am at St. John Fisher Catholic Church. Burial: Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In Lieu of Flowers: Donations are encouraged to be made in Paul's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
