Obituary

Raymond J. Richmond "Ray", age 90, passed away on April 20, 2025. Ray was born and raised in South Philadelphia and was a proud graduate of St. John Neumann High School. After marrying and starting a family, he settled in Glenolden, PA, where he raised his children and lived for 32 years. He later moved to Plant City, FL, where he lived for 12 years before returning to Pennsylvania and settling in Boothwyn, where he spent the last 9 years of his life. Ray built a long and respected career in the newspaper industry, beginning in the mailroom and working his way up to become a printer and compositor for The Evening Bulletin located off 30th Street in Philadelphia. He remained with the Bulletin for 28 years, where he was also an active member of the company bowling league. Later, he delivered The Philadelphia Inquirer for a time as well. Above all, Ray cherished time spent with his family. He is the son of the late Raymond and Alice (née Lonigan) Richmond and brother to the late Willard, Harvey, Edna, Alice, and Marion. Survivors: His loving wife of 57 years, Christine (née Mullen) Richmond; his children, Armand J. Toussaint and Michele (née Richmond) Karmels (Gary); as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
