Riggins

Raymond J. Riggins, age 87, a longtime resident of Elkton, MD passed away on December 19,2022. Ray lived in Chester, PA before moving to Upper Chichester where he lived for many years. He worked for Bond Bread Co. in Chester before becoming a member of the International Operating Engineers Local 542, Glasgow, PA. In his earlier years Ray served his country with the United States Army in Germany. Ray was a parishioner of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Boothwyn, PA and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elkton, MD where he was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus. Ray was an avid NASCAR fan and was fond of Classic antique cars; he especially enjoyed taking his custom 1948 Chevy pickup truck to shows in Elkton. He is the son of the late William T. and Louise (Kredatus) Riggins and husband of the late Florence (Watson) Riggins. Ray is survived by 3 Children: Georgiana Byrne, Florence L. Fritz (Todd), and Raymond J. Riggins, Jr., and seven loving grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Ray's visitation will be Wednesday, December 28,2022 from 9:15-10:15am at St. John Fisher Catholic Church 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA 19061. Funeral Mass: Wednesday, December 28,2022 at 10:30am at St. John Fisher Church. Burial: Edgewood Memorial Park, Concord Twp.
