IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond Lee
Yorden
March 6, 1951 – May 3, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Raymond Lee "Skeeter" Yorden, age 74, who passed away on May 3, 2025, at Lankenau Hospital. Born at the San Diego Navy Hospital in California, where his father was stationed, Skeeter spent most of his life in Delaware County, he resided in Brookhaven and has called Aston Township home for the past 52 years. Skeeter dedicated over 50 years of his life as a heavy equipment operator at Pyramid Quarry, where he was a well-respected member of the team. He was known not only for his profound work ethic but also for his vibrant personality and quick wit that endeared him to friends and colleagues alike. Skeeter was passionate about life and enjoyed a wide range of activities, including golfing with his friends, playing sofeball on various leagues, bowling for years as one of "The Bowling Guys", guessing the prices on Antiques Roadshow with his mother, deer hunting, fishing, bird watching out his bedroom window (and yelling at the squirrels), and metal detecting. The family has cherished memories of vacations at Rehoboth Beach, DE where his life of machine operating led to him being the absolute king of the crane machine. With a handful of quarters and enough time he could coax prizes from even the most rigged crane. Skeeter's love of absurd humor (especially his own) and the joy he brought to others will be fondly remembered. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Anytime a Simpsons or Monty Python quote is randomly shouted out as a response to a normal question his legacy will live on. As we gather to remember Raymond Lee Yorden, we invite all who knew him to join us in honoring a life filled with laughter, love, and lasting friendships. Please feel free to dress casually, Skeeter would want all to feel comfortable. He was the son of the late Raymond E. Yorden and brother of the late Mark Yorden. He was a beloved cousin of the late Michael Yorden. SURVIVORS: His beloved wife of 52 years, Kathleen McManiman Yorden, his mother Doris Reed Yorden, his children Katie Watson (Dan), Raymond M. Yorden, and Amy Lynn Yorden (Nick Petrillo), his grandchildren Ben Watson and Nora Yorden-Petrillo, his siblings Amy Elizabeth Swantner (Jerry) and Paul Yorden. His beloved In-Laws Gerald and Kathryn McManiman and a whole horde of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who were just like family. VISITATION: Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 10-11:45 am at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston. EULOGIES and Words of remembrance will begin at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
