Richard Guy Schleifer, age 86, a resident of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on August 21, 2022. He was raised in Glenolden, PA and was a graduate of Glen-Nor High School, where he was an avid basketball player. After graduating high school, Richard worked at Verizon as a service tech, retiring after 38 years. In addition, he served his country proudly as a staff sergeant in the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of Calvary Chapel of Delaware County for most of his life but most recently he attended The Bridge Church in Linwood, PA. In his spare time Richard enjoyed watching and was an expert in sports, and learning about history, particularly the Civil War. Richard loved spending time with his family, enjoyed board and card games as well as going out to eat. He is the son of the late Herman and Bernice Schleifer and brother to late Robert Schleifer, Ron Schleifer, Rodney Schleifer, Wanda Whipple, Dolly Langstaff, and Marion Schleifer. Richard was recently preceded in death by his daughter Laurie Schleifer in 2021. Survivors: His loving wife of 65 years Thelma V. (Hagerman) Schleifer, his children Pamela McCabe (James) and Keith Schleifer (Lorraine) his grandchildren James McCabe (Elizabeth), Shane McCabe (Kailey), Svetlana McCabe, Karli Ahrens (Zachary), and Hannah Mae Schleifer.
