Richard James Stanaitis, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2025. Raised in Aston, PA, Rich was a graduate of Sun Valley High School, Class of 1984. He most recently resided in Morris, Tioga County, PA, where he enjoyed the outdoors. Rich was the former owner of Affordable Disposal and later partnered with Chesmont Disposal for many years. For the past two decades, he worked as a diesel mechanic, most recently with X-Press Energy. He was very involved with the Pennsylvania Sled Dog Club, where he served as Vice President and Trail Boss. Rich loved hunting, fishing, riding ATVs, and cooking and grilling for large groups of family and friends. He found joy in bringing people together and took pride in making others happy. He was the son of the late Robert and Anna (nee Batter) Stanaitis, brother of the late Robert Stanaitis, and brother-in-law of the late Bob Moor. Survivors: His siblings John Stanaitis, Elaine McGroerty (Tom), and Anne Marie Moor; as well as his former wife, Liz Stanaitis. Visitation: Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 10:00am - 11:15am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Memorial Service: Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 11:30am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial Private.
